Icing Instructions
Get a gallon size Ziploc baggy. Put about 5 inches of ice and 1-2 inches of water. Before sealing, squeeze all the air out. Once the baggy is sealed, hold baggy between your hands horizontally/parallel to the floor and vigorously shake approximately 5-10 seconds. If your hands are not very cold, add a little more water to the bag and repeat the shaking. Then fold in half and add a rubber band approximately 1 inch from each end holding the ice in the middle.
Apply to bare skin on the spinal bones up and down, not across. Leave it on for 20 minutes; remove it for 20 minutes; reapply for 20 minutes.
Stop icing for one hour and then repeat the same regiment every other hour as many times as
you can in the course of 1 day. You need to do this repetitively between your chiropractic adjustments. This will create a pumping action causing the blood to go to the injured area to promote healing and decrease the inflammation.
You do not have to lay down to ice, you can ice while driving, working, watching TV, eating, or while working on a computer etc.
THE KEY TO ICING IS CONSISTENCY AND REPETITION!!
DO NOT place where your pain is, this is typically not where your problem is located.
Ice your spine (VERTICALLY)!!!!!
